The historic warehouses in Lazarett Street, Windhoek, the first of Pupkewitz Hardware facilities, were chosen as the ideal site for the new Pupkewitz Holdings Head Offices. The overall look and feel of the interior design was built around the beautifully aged character of the three primary sheds with exposed wooden trusses, raw concrete floors and bagged plastered walls – a perfect canvas for a rustic interior. To allow visual and physical connection to the exterior elements, voids were punched through the roof and surface beds creating landscaping cores and light silos in each wing of the previously enclosed warehouse. Pieces of the existing trusses were re-purposed for the main boardroom ceiling.

An interior branding and design proposal were presented for the refurbishment of a Nedbank Branch in Windhoek. We proposed branding labels for various areas inspired by the latest Nedbank advertisement “See money differently” – “Money matters”. Furthermore the Nedbank company logo was translated into tangible interior components seen in the detail of the reception counter, personal banker’s screens, dividers between tellers, wallpaper and privacy vinyl on glazed doors and windows. This formed the concept around which the interior was built. Clean geometric lines, Nedbank greens paired with white and charcoal, contrasted with the natural warmth of wood, all formed a crisp and clean interior for the corporate environment.
